McLaren 750S – Sharper, Lighter, and More Focused

The McLaren 750S is the British supercar maker’s latest evolution of its legendary mid-engine series, replacing the 720S in 2023. While it shares the same core DNA, around 30% of its components are new or revised, making it faster, lighter, and more engaging. It’s McLaren’s purest blend yet of everyday usability and track-focused performance.

Design & Aerodynamics

The 750S builds on the elegant, teardrop-shaped body of the 720S but with functional updates:

  • A larger, more aggressive front splitter for better downforce.

  • Slimmer LED headlights with integrated air intakes for brake cooling.

  • A larger active rear wing (inspired by the 765LT) that also works as an airbrake.

  • A center-mounted exhaust for reduced weight and a sharper soundtrack.

The car’s body is almost entirely carbon fiber, keeping weight low while maintaining structural rigidity.

Engine & Performance

  • 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8

  • 740 hp and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque

  • 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds

  • Top speed: 332 km/h (206 mph)

The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, delivering lightning-fast shifts and power to the rear wheels. Despite its extreme performance, the 750S remains surprisingly drivable at low speeds.

Chassis & Handling

McLaren has made the 750S lighter than the 720S by up to 66 lbs, thanks to:

  • Lighter forged wheels

  • Slimmer carbon-fiber racing seats

  • A titanium exhaust system

It uses Proactive Chassis Control III suspension for a balance of comfort and cornering sharpness. The wider front track improves front-end grip, and the hydraulic steering provides precise, communicative feedback—something rare in modern supercars.

Interior & Comfort

Inside, the 750S is minimalist but high-quality:

  • Driver-focused cockpit with clear analog-style speed display

  • Lightweight carbon-fiber bucket seats (or more padded touring seats as an option)

  • Simple, quick-access controls instead of overly complex touchscreens

  • Optional Alcantara and leather trim, with bespoke personalization via McLaren Special Operations (MSO)

Key Highlights

  • Sharper, lighter upgrade to the 720S

  • Blistering 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds

  • Balanced enough for both track days and city streets

  • Iconic McLaren design with functional aerodynamics

  • Exclusivity — hand-built in limited numbers
