Koenigsegg Jesko – Extreme Hypercar Engineering

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a Swedish hypercar built to push the boundaries of speed, handling, and automotive engineering. Named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, it follows the Agera RS and showcases Koenigsegg’s latest leap forward in ultra‑high‑performance design.

Engine and Performance

The Jesko runs a 5.0‑liter twin‑turbo V8 engine that delivers:

  • Around 1,280 hp on standard pump fuel

  • Up to 1,600 hp on E85 biofuel (ethanol blend)

  • About 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb‑ft) of torque

The Jesko Absolut version has a targeted top speed of more than 300 mph (480+ km/h), still theoretical and based on simulations.

This engine is almost completely developed in‑house and paired with Koenigsegg’s innovative 9‑speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), capable of near‑instant gear changes, skipping the lag of traditional dual‑clutch systems.

Two Versions: Jesko Attack vs. Jesko Absolut

  • Jesko Attack – Built for track performance with an aggressive aero kit that generates over 1,400 kg of downforce at speed. Perfect for circuit use.

  • Jesko Absolut – Engineered for top‑speed records with a low‑drag profile and minimized aero surfaces to cut resistance.

Both share the same powertrain but are tuned differently—one prioritizes maximum cornering grip, the other sheer top speed.

Chassis and Technology

  • Carbon fiber monocoque chassis—ultra‑light and incredibly rigid

  • Active aerodynamics—adjustable front and rear wings to adapt to speed and driving mode

  • Triplex suspension system—Koenigsegg’s unique horizontal rear damper setup to keep the car balanced during extreme acceleration

  • Rear‑wheel steering—adds stability at high speeds and agility in tight corners

Interior

Even with its focus on performance, the Jesko remains usable day to day:

  • Signature dihedral synchro‑helix doors

  • Driver‑oriented cockpit with rotating digital displays on the steering wheel

  • Premium materials like leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber

  • Fully customizable, as every Koenigsegg is built to spec for its owner

Production and Price

  • Limited production of about 125 cars worldwide

  • Price starts around $3 million, depending on options

  • All units sold out shortly after its 2019 debut

Key Highlights

  • One of the rare hypercars theoretically capable of exceeding 300 mph

  • Advanced transmission technology for lightning‑fast gear changes

  • Blends extreme top‑speed performance with surprising real‑world usability

  • Hand‑built in Sweden with meticulous attention to detail
